Modern brick construction is typically an architectural feature of a single wythe brick veneer that is anchored to the building structure through an air space and/or rigid insulation. Historically, brick construction was structural with several wythes of interlocked brick to form structural walls.
Brick is manufactured in many sizes and colors from off white, to red, to black. We work on both new construction, and restoration of existing brick buildings.
Some of our brick projects include schools, college campuses, fire stations, and court houses.
Concrete Masonry Units (CMU) are typically a structural part of the building and consist of hollow concrete masonry units reinforced with rebar and filled with grout.
CMU can be manufactured in many textures and colors, the most common being precision face grey color, but as elaborate as split, ground, or shot-blast textures in shades of red or green.
Our CMU projects range from simple trash enclosures and retaining walls to parking garages, water treatment plants, and multi-building correctional facilities.
Stone used in masonry construction can vary from cobbles to ledgestone, irregular shaped to cut stone panels, and can be natural stone from a quarry, or artificial stone that is manufactured in molds with light weight concrete.
Stone is typically an architectural feature of a building from small accent pieces to covering the entire structure.
We have used stone on state park landscape features, animal hospitals, restroom/concession buildings, health care facilities, casinos, and sports clubs, just to name a few.
Thin brick veneer is a ½” to 1” thick brick manufactured to look identical to a full-size brick veneer when construction is completed. This material is adhered directly to the building using thin set mortar typically over plaster, cement board, or CMU.
Some advantages that thin brick veneer has over full-size brick veneer is lighter weight, and faster installation, which typically leads to less expensive construction.
Thin brick veneer can be used in all the same type of projects as full-size brick veneer.
In addition to the traditional masonry materials listed above, we also have projects that consist of; brick block, cleaning existing masonry, glass block, granite columns/benches, landscape pavers, mortar repointing, precast concrete, rammed earth panels, seismic stabilization of existing masonry, and terra-cotta panels, just to name a few specialty item types.
